Callie and Eric – Vic’s on the River – Savannah Wedding Photographer

Callie and Eric’s traditional Savannah wedding was simply beautiful. The couple’s taste was pretty classic, and I loved the added nods to travel throughout their decor. The color pallet was airy and springy, a nice touch on a rainy day. The River Street Inn served as Callie’s dressing room. It was cool to see nearly her entire family gathered together in the room. Thats usually a good sign of a fabulous wedding.

Vic’s on the River offers a great indoor small ceremony location. Perfect for an intimate wedding or rain plan. The ceremony was sweet, and there were many tears of joy shed.  First City Events did a great job of flipping the space in just the time it took to do a group photo. Round of applause to them.

Callie and Eric and I stepped away for a few portraits, but because of schedule constraints, we opted to do a day after session for most of their portraits. During our day after session, we did a full Savannah circuit. We started at the tree canopy of Wormsloe, then headed to Forsyth Park to grab a few shots with the iconic fountain. Lastly we headed to City Market downtown. Callie and Eric had their first date and Vinnie Van Go Go’s, a locally famous pizza parlor known just as much for it’s tattooed waitstaff and spodee-odee (a splendid mixture of red wine and orange soda) as it is it’s thin crust pizza. We made sure to grab a few shots there as well as just have some fun wandering.Back to the reception….. The night felt very low key. Don’t get me wrong, there was lots of dancing and excitement, including grandma on the dance floor. Overall though, it felt like it was laid back and relaxed. At one point I pulled the couple out onto the balcony (another awesome perk of Vic’s) to grab some sunset shots in front of the bridge. I really thought that the beautiful light was going to be the peak of the sunset. Low and behold, 20 minutes later, cotton candy skies spanned over the Callie and Eric and I stepped away for a few portraits, but because of schedule constraints, we opted to do a day after session for most of their portraits. I begged them to give me another shot, and they happily obliged, which I’m so glad they did, because I love those shots.
